An amnesiac courier with her heart bleeding on her sleeve. In seeking answers, she found her way to the heart of a war, and over time, the messenger became the message.

Whether she's aware of it or not, and regardless of whether it's deliberate on her end, Elle is an agent of change. One of the things she wants most is to make a difference, and wherever she goes, change of some sort is bound to follow... Even if, sometimes, that change is only within herself.

Personality Traits:
Basics: Altruistic, emotional, diplomatic, people-oriented, bond-seeking, energetic
Social: Extrovert, highly empathic, very loyal, heart on her sleeve, awkward, dependent
Communication: Expressive, open-minded, perceptive, tactful, goal-oriented, gently manipulative
Under Stress: Abandonment issues, rejection sensitivity, insecure, self-blaming, reckless, self-isolating, self-destructive tendencies, identity issues
Adaptation: Curious, flexible, enduring, restless
Work Ethic & Problem-Solving: Mediator, cooperative, indecisive, driving, natural follower
Boundaries & Conflict: Sensitive, conflict-avoidant, high patience, secretly stubborn, competitive, moral, focus on consistency

Verses:
Mostly Canon Compliant (FNV): Timeline range from the start of Fallout: New Vegas to the aftermath of Elle's Wild Card ending. She actually starts out as a House-aligned courier, but this changes after Dead Money. (She does the DLC mostly in order, but Old World Blues comes first, followed by Dead Money, rather than the other way around.) She generally befriends every faction feasible, excluding the Powder Gangers, the Fiends, and the Legion. (The NCR has mixed opinions by the end, though.)
Major Canon Divergence: In specifically one place -- Her handling of Yes Man. She offered him free will programming (via Emily Ortal) before installing him into House's mainframe, and gave him time to adjust (and bond) before asking him if he wanted to help her.

Old Marvels Made New: Inevitable combo verse with Amanda and Dean. I need to rework the stuff for my muses, Elle especially.

But I Can't Stop (FO4): AKA "Courier turned Sole Survivor." After the events of FNV, Elle comes across the Guardian of Forever and gets isekai'd all the way back in time to before the Great War. She ends up taken in by Zetta and Riley, only for Zetta to die in a workplace accident shortly before the War. As the bombs fall, Riley lies to Vault-Tec, claiming Elle is Zetta in order to get her in. After Kellogg kills Riley and takes Shaun, Elle emerges from Vault 111 with a truckload of fresh new trauma and a dedication to self-isolation, because once she rescues and settles Shaun, her plan is to return to the Mojave... And she's desperately trying to avoid the pain of losing everything for a third time.
Associations: Elle inevitably gets tied up in the Railroad, but her biggest connection is to the Cabots. They're the first people she tells the whole truth of her story to, and after Lorenzo's defeat, they adopt her into the family. Companions-wise, the door is wide open. Unless there's another in play, Elle and MacCready are assumed to be very close (but sibling-like, not romantic). Will likely feature my other canon muses (like Edward Deegan) if they aren't in play.
Verse options include: Pre-War (replacing the Reynolds with your SoSu? including possibly post-War?) - General post-War over the course of FO4's events - Convincing Elle on what factions to go with - etc.

Mystery Science Mishaps: Wherein Elle ends up in other canons, or other characters end up in her Mojave. This can involve the Transportalponder, Big MT in general, the Guardian of Forever, Zetans, weakness in the time-space continuum… Whatever excuse we can think of, really.

tag: muse tag: musings

A Pre-War mechanic and roboticist whose family fell into one of Vault-Tec's experiments, only to be then splintered by the Institute. She emerges from Vault 111 with her teeth bared, ready to fight what the world's become in order to get her family back β€” What's left of it, anyway. When she realizes she's on her way to becoming just one more person who wants to burn it all down again, she turns herself around... Only for that choice to pit her against her family once she finds what she's looking for.

Personality Traits:
Basics: Assertive, intense, opinionated, stubborn, defensive, suspicious, private, family-focused
Social: Extrovert, cliquish, "us vs them," private, close-bonding, extremely loyal
Communication: Blunt, acerbic, assertive, expressive, thick skin
Under Stress: "Us vs them" intensifies, overreactive, over-protective, hypocritical, self-isolates
Adaptation: Habitual, change-resistant, tough, restless
Work Ethic & Problem-Solving: Dedicated, planner, bull-headed, resourceful, pragmatic
Boundaries & Conflict: Firm boundaries, respects others' boundaries, quick-tempered, zealously protective, passive aggressive-aggressive, focus on understanding

Verses:
Canon Compliant: Timeline range from the beginning of Fallout 4 to the aftermath of Zetta's Railroad ending. She resists becoming the General of the Minutemen due to her allergy to being in charge of anything, but she otherwise spends a long time desperately trying to "have it all" -- Trying to get Shaun to listen to her and make changes to the Institute so she doesn't have to stand against him. Open to playing out alternate verses where she has varying degrees of success on that front -- Otherwise, we're mostly talking bog standard canon. And yes, she's the type who picks a lot of Sarcasm speech options.
Zetta's Railroad Codename: Sooo... Zetta was the Sole Survivor in my first playthrough, and I was a day one player. This isn't a flex (I really don't think it matters when someone started playing), but a set-up: I wanted her to have a unique codename, not one off the canon list, so I decided it would be... Faraday. Imagine my face when Far Harbor came out LMAO. By then, Faraday was already embedded in my head as Perfect For Her, so I've really struggled to pick another one ever since. I've recently decided to just give up and roll with the coincidence. So when you see her referred to as "Faraday," 1. that's why, and 2. if you are a Faraday player and don't wanna mess with that, message me and we'll work something out.
Key Companions: Unless there is another player's Deacon in play, Zetta is head over heels for him, and he's fundamental to her adaptation to the Commonwealth and growth as a person. (If there IS someone else's Deacon in play, then we discuss and agree on is king.) Aside from him, Codsworth is very important to her, and she considers him to be a part of her family, no arguments allowed. Nick is a grounding influence, able to reel her in when most others can't. If there isn't another MacCready in play, I'll fill in my own, with whom Zetta plays a big sister/aunt-like figure.

Old Marvels Made New: Inevitable combo verse with Amanda and Dean. I need to rework the stuff for my muses, although less so for Zetta. While she still fills the Sole Survivor slot for that verse, she used to work for Stark Industries before the bombs dropped.

Stardew Valley AU: Yes, really. Hear me out, okay -- Zetta and Riley were married back in Zuzu City, she worked as a car mechanic, but then Some Kind Of Accident Happens and Riley dies. She closes their small business and ends up working in the soulless Joja job until that fateful day she finally opens her grandfather's letter... (Or, alternatively, they remained very close childhood friends, but never dated or married, and he's still alive back in the city. In which case the car shop she worked for fails, and she grabs the Joja job as a stopgap to make ends meet.) Will probably borrow from a bit of old Hravest Moon/Story of Seasons and say she used to spend time as a child on her grandfather's farm in Stardew Valley. She isn't much of a natural farmer nowadays, though, so she tries to compensate with tech (so, y'know, the fancy sprinklers, plays with the Tractor and Automate mods, etc.)

tag: muse tag: musings

A naturally gentle man who struggled with Pre-War injustice. But he feared making a stand in case it put a target on his already at-risk family, so he only helped in small, quiet gestures. His limited action haunts him Post-War.

As the Sole Survivor, he never recovers from losing Zetta. Lost and numb, he fights hard to do good so others won't suffer like he did. While friendly and noble, those traits serve to hold others at a distance so he can hide his loneliness and pain.

Personality Traits:
Basics: Distant, introverted, insecure, conflict-avoidant, mellow, warm, predictable, mediating, kind, soft, honest, cautious, reactionary
Social: Friendly, warm, mild-mannered, self-conscious, close-bonding, extremely loyal
Communication: Sensitive, diplomatic, mediating, shy, slow to trust, codependent
Under Stress: Dissociative, withdraws, evasive, self-sacrificial, freeze over fight or flight
Adaptation: Habitual, predictable, change-averse, reacts rather than initiates
Work Ethic & Problem-Solving: Steady, persistent, unambitious, observant, resourceful
Boundaries & Conflict: Strongly conflict-avoidant, doormat wrt his boundaries, but holds strong to morals, protective of others

Verses:
Canon Compliant: Timeline range from the beginning of Fallout 4 to the aftermath of Riley's Minuteman or Railroad ending. He can be easily pushed in either direction -- Honestly, Riley is the best candidate for any faction ending, but Brotherhood and Institute are distinctly not his "good" ends. (I'm happy to play them out, though!) He is the "help anyone who asks" type of Sole Survivor, too kind for his own good, unwilling -- if not outright unable -- to turn his back to suffering. In many ways, he's spurred on by his guilt for not doing more to help people Pre-War, like he's trying to compensate for his inaction.
Key Companions: Like Zetta, Riley considers Codsworth a member of his family -- They bought him not only to help with her pregnancy, but with his PTSD after his tour in Alaska. Post-War, Riley's all but clingy to him. All other companion relationships are highly flexible, including romance options -- But the shoe's on the other foot there, because Riley's trauma makes him unlikely to be the one to pursue. So it's more like Riley is the romanceable companion.

Old Marvels Made New: Inevitable combo verse with Amanda and Dean. I need to rework the stuff for my muses.

Gameplay:
Tagged Skills: Speech, Survival, Sneak
Key Perks: Animal Friend, Attack Dog, Inspirational, Local Leader, Rifleman, Awareness, Life Giver, Gun Nut, Scrounger
Combat Style: Prefers to let the others do the planning, and usually does his best when providing cover fire and working with others. When he's on his own, he just kind of wings it. He ends up trying to confuse the enemy and then hit hard. Prone to using his environment a lot (taking cover, setting off existing traps, etc.). Prefers to keep a distance when he can
Sample Equipment: Laser musket, combat rifle, 10mm pistol, combat armor, army fatigues, the occasional power armor

A social outcast whose only choices were to stay or die. Forced into the Secret Services to survive, he found freedom in his new work as a surface infiltrator -- And he used it to lay the groundwork to run at first opportunity. It arrived when the Lone Wanderer and the Brotherhood of Steel destroyed the Enclave. But he couldn't bring himself to abandon the only family he knew, so he helped other Remnants escape to and integrate as civilians in the Commonwealth.

As much as he's willing to do whatever is necessary for his own survival, deep down there's a nugget of conscience that he can never entirely ignore -- A fact he's very aware of, and rues daily.

Personality Traits:
Basics: Highly active, curious, playful, secretive, trust issues
Social: Extrovert, gregarious, nosy, perceptive, loose bonds but safety in numbers
Communication: Talkative, lots of humor, lies and misdirection, network-focused, emotionally distant
Under Stress: Evasive, paranoid, info hoarding intensifies, self-serving, flight over fight, impulsive, small persistent conscience
Adaptation: Highly flexible, opportunistic, resourceful
Work Ethic & Problem-Solving: Cooperative, cautious, assertive, pragmatic, level-headed, surprisingly patient, information hoarding, loose plans, prepare to improvise
Boundaries & Conflict: Independent, private, subtly but highly manipulative, stubborn, security-seeking

Verses:

Pre-Fallout 3: After growing up in the stifling environment of the Enclave at Raven Rock, and finding himself ostracized and punished for his individuality at every turn, Shouta Yamamoto enters the Secret Service as a surface infiltration agent. There, he flourishes as his personality and natural skills finally find their niche. The wasteland also provides him a taste of freedom, even as he obeys his orders and fulfills his missions. Includes Bellamy's childhood, where he's a class clown with a rebellious streak and not exactly any real friends to speak of.

Fallout 3: Better known in the Enclave now as his codename Cyrano, he operates undercover amongst wastelanders, collecting whatever information and doing whatever dirty work his superiors back home tells him to.. Even while he's simultaneously preparing caches and connections for when he feels he can finally desert them. He's available for threads set in and around the Capitol, seemingly a normal wastelander... Or, seemingly a merc looking for a job... Or seemingly an information broker, peddling his wares...

Post-Fallout 3: He's still on the job, out in the wasteland, when the Enclave falls. A group of refugees comes and finds him -- Well... Not him, but rather his partner for a particular mission. They just happen to collect him, too. This is to their great benefit, though -- He taps into his just-in-case resources to help them survive and flee the area, down into the Commonwealth. It takes a few years, but he helps them integrate into the wasteland, then does the same for himself -- Under a new alias, Bellamy Rook. Threads set in this era will find him sniffing out leads, connections, and places to build up favors owed for the sake of his little family he reluctantly feels responsible for.

Fallout 4: By 2279, that job is finished, and Bellamy can finally settle into the life he wants for himself right now. His interest is always in information and in people, so he goes from playing scavver-merc to information broker and fixer. He travels on the regular to maintain his information network... and to stick his nose into whatever might interest him. There's a dead even chance that a muse, especially one affiliated strongly with a faction, will meet him when he's working a cover instead of being himself.

Runaway: Alternate timeline to Post-FO3 and FO4 verses. Instead of sticking it out in the Enclave until their destruction at the hands of the Lone Wanderer, Cyrano runs. He knows defecting will make the Enclave chase after him (to court martial and execute him), so he adopts a raider persona and joins a gang, hoping it would be the last place the Enclave would think to look for him. After they fall and the Brotherhood starts hunting down survivors, he decides it isn't safe to stay in the Capital Wasteland and flees -- Either north, to the Commonwealth, or all the way west into the Mojave. Either way, by the time this happens, he's too entrenched in the raider lifestyle, and the violence and hard edges never really go away. Whether he takes over a small raider gang and turns them into ruthless mercenaries (raiders for hire), begins his information brokering business, or anything else -- will depend on what best suits our needs. But he's available to be hired as a companion, similarly to MacCready, to anyone -- protag or not. After enough trust has been built between him and his employer, he'll start sharing parts of his true history. His character arc here is centered on what he really wants out of his life.

Gameplay:
Tagged Skills: Speech, Sneak, Lockpick
Key Perks: Pickpocket, Awareness, Locksmith, Lone Wanderer, Sneak, Mister Sandman, Ninja, Better Criticals
Combat Style: Stealth, silenced guns, knives
Sample Equipment: Non-unique version of Deliverer, hunting rifle, knives (too many), grenades, any variation of gas mask (very common to see him with one on when not undercover). No typical outfit as he dresses to blend in, but when he's being himself instead of a cover, he dresses in layers on layers on layers. Oh, and don't forget his gloves

A mercenary who left the Gunners, but not the business of killing people for a living. He has a bad boy attitude and doesn't hesitate in baring his selfishness, but bizarrely, among his many bad habits, swearing isn't one of them. Past his alternating sharp sarcasm and childlike sense of humor lies a deeper maturity, one that's earned from having to be in an adult role since childhood. He is a quintessential wastelander, for all the strengths and weaknesses it affords him, but he is always looking to the future.

Personality Traits:
Basics: Opinionated, straight-forward, confident, practical, restless, trust issues
Social: Extrovert, group-oriented, cliquish, "us vs them," non-hierarchal, guarded, very affectionate
Communication: Honest, blunt, thick-skinned, vocal, gives as good as he gets
Under Stress: Isolated, distrusting, over-protective, territorial, reactionary, aggressive
Adaptation: Hardy, resilient, rolls with punches, sticks to what he's good at
Work Ethic & Problem-Solving: Direct, planner, prudent, relentless, diligent, patient, ruthless
Boundaries & Conflict: Competitive, not status-oriented, postures but follows through, firm boundaries, security-seeking, confrontational

Verses:
Canon Compliant: Bog standard Fallout 4 canon. A couple of headcanon notes: Lucy MacCready was the Lucy of Little Lamplight in Fallout 3, she knew RJ was lying about being a soldier, and he's gonna hold on to the wooden soldier to give to Duncan.

Old Marvels Made New: Inevitable combo verse with Amanda and Dean. In which everyone should feel so incredibly, terribly sorry for MacCready for having to put up with all y'all's bullshit. Someone give this boy a raise.

But I Can't Stop: As in Elle's Sole Survivor verse. What started out as a partnership between mercenaries evolved into a close, sibling-like relationship.
Canon Divergence: Lucy doesn't die to ferals in a metro. When Duncan falls ill, she attempts to home-make a cure, similar to how she handled Little Lamplight's rickets epidemic in her childhood. RJ and Lucy travel around the Capital Wasteland searching hospitals and medical facilities until they find a promising lead pointing to research done in a Medtek facility to the north. They pack up Duncan and move to the Commonwealth, settling at the Slog where RJ can offer protection and Lucy medical services to the ghouls there in exchange for caretaking for their son. The Institute catches wind of Lucy's genius and is attempting to recruit her when the MacCready parents attempt to breech Malden's Medtek Center. Unfortunately, Lucy doesn't survive, forcing RJ to retreat. Afterwards, RJ ends up turning to the Gunners for steady caps to provide for Duncan, a choice he quickly comes to regret. Over the course of working alongside Elle, she connects him with Jack Cabot, who agrees to shelter Duncan in Cabot House while he attempts to take Medtek's research and turn it into a functional cure. :

Professional, reliable, and capable. Originally hired by the Cabots in 2058, Edward serves as a general aide, maintaining family property and day-to-day details -- In other words, he keeps their groceries stocked, the generators running, and oversees other employees. Becoming a ghoul shortly after the Great War gave him the ability to continue working for the family for over two hundred years, and he's in no desire for a change in occupation.

Edward has a pretty level personality, not prone to getting riled easily. He keeps a professional attitude, a steady head on his shoulders, and comes across as the straight-forward sort, bordering on blunt when his temper is up. He displays a kind of casual, quiet, well-worn confidence, and there's an air of "this guy is definitely a bodyguard or ex-military or something, right?" Expect a hefty dose of wry sarcasm from him, too, even about some pretty grim topics (a la gallows humor). The amount of sass goes up exponentially if he gets the impression someone's being a dick to him.

Personality Traits:
Basics: Level-headed, confident, goal-oriented, observant, professional, reserved
Social: Attentive, mediating, typically loose-bonding but strong on commitments made
Communication: Straight-forward, clear, tactful, thick-skinned, dry wit, proactive
Under Stress: Stubborn, surprisingly impatient, workaholic, solution-oriented, self-control tightens, equilibrium management
Adaptation: Hardy, pragmatic, resourceful, "the only way out is through"
Work Ethic & Problem-Solving: Long-term planner, consistent, reliable, reputation building, efficient and values efficiency
Boundaries & Conflict: Firm boundaries, once bitten twice [gun rack sound], security-seeking

Verses:
Canon Compliant: Bog standard Fallout 4 canon. Default timeline will start prior to the Cabots questline. If needed, the default assumed ending (with a handwaved generic Sole Survivor) will see Lorenzo dead and the rest of the family alive.

Old Marvels Made New: Inevitable combo verse with Amanda and Dean. Someone pour this man a drink.

But I Can't Stop: As in Elle's Sole Survivor verse. (Lorenzo dead, family alive.) It's easy to send Edward out and about on either standard Cabot business, or to help Elle out with something. May or may not be a Railroad tourist (code name Atlas).

Gameplay:

Key Perks: Heavy Gunner, Awareness, Concentrated Fire, Toughness, Ghoulish, Cap Collector, Scrapper, Commando
Combat Style: Automatic fire, heavy weapons
